This bite size course explains in some detail the Getting it Right For Every Child framework, which is the national approach in Scotland to supporting and working with children and young people. GIRFEC is relevant for everyone who works with children and young people as well as those who work with adults who look after children.

GIRFEC seeks to encourage changes in culture, systems and practice across services for children, promote a child centred approach and engender a common understanding and shared language across all agencies. This is with the aim of putting children and their families at the heart of the decision making process, giving all children and young people the best possible start in life.

This is an essential learning package for practitioners and other members of the children’s workforce who wish to understand the philosophy behind this important new model of child protection and how to apply it in practice.
