Exam Description

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a test for students who wish to apply to an American or European educational institution. Many companies and organisations also require a TOEFL score to indicate your level of English.   We offer preparation for the iBT (Internet Based Test) and the scoring system gives you points out of 120 and most British universities require a score of 85 - 100.
This course prepares you for the examination and also provides general training in study skills. In class you will concentrate on practice tests and TOEFL test-taking techniques. There is also a focus on American English to make sure you are prepared for the different accents and vocabulary you will experience in the TOEFL test.

TOEFL 15 & 30

In your TOEFL class, you will work on developing your English and exam strategy for the independent and integrated tasks in the following parts of the exam:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Listening

TOEFL 25 & 30

On this course you will study General English for 15 hours per week and TOEFL for 10 or 15 hours per week. This course is particularly recommended if your grammatical accuracy and vocabulary need improvement, and if you need to improve your communication skills for the exam. The General English classes develop your overall knowledge and ability, and the TOEFL classes focus on exam skills and strategy for the independent and integrated tasks in the following parts of the exam:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Listening
